Picturesque restored town house, situated in the heart of the village of Valldemossa. You reach the house from a charming paved street full of mud flowerpots with ferns, typical detail of the charming towns of the Sierra de Tramuntana that gives a unique charm and freshness to the visitors who walk through its streets.
Built on the majorcan stone decorated and respecting the same old furniture, some of them from the XVIII century and Majorcan antiques. This house has a lot of character and it is a small museum.
The property is divided into three floors, from the street you access to the main floor, and once inside we find several rooms decorated with rustic furniture which reminds us of the past. The main living area has several sofas around a large fireplace. On the left side, an archway leads to the kitchen which maintains the popular charm of the kitchens of the past with an impressive stone sink. At the same time, it has all the amenities and tools of the current kitchens to cook without any problem.
If we move into the interior of the living rooms of the main floor we will find large glazed doors which lead us to a large staircase decorated on its walls with original features like a sculpture of ‘Virgin and Child’ and old Majorcan painted tiles that lead to a courtyard with swimming pool.
Again inside, on the top floor, where we can access from a staircase from the living room, we arrive to a large corridor where several bedrooms are distributed, all decorated with an original style, but it results balanced and almost monastic. Some of the bedrooms have a small balcony that overlooks the courtyard and with views to the stone houses of the village. From the corridor we have access to several bathrooms. The same staircase leads to the third floor where the remaining bedrooms and bathrooms are.
This typical Majorcan house has six bedrooms in total, four of them with double bed and two with twin beds, two extra beds is optional. It has also two bathrooms with a bath, one with bath and shower and a toilet.
The house has central heating and fireplace in the living room to be comfortably installed during the coldest months of the year.
Can Madó Xuclà, is situated in one of the most popular villages of the Serra de Tramuntana for its beauty and famous geniuses who lived in this town in the past as the famous composer Chopin or writer Robert Graves in Deià.
In Valldemossa you can visit the ‘Cartuja’ (a monastery), and its rooms where the musician Chopin lived and its beautiful gardens. You can visit the museum house of the renowned painter Coll Bardolet, famous for his paintings of dancers 'ball de bot', the traditional Majorcan dance. Highly recommended is the ‘Coca de patata' a Majorcan dessert typical of the village of Valldemossa.
On the outskirts of the town you can visit the Hermitage of Valldemossa with spectacular views to north area of the island.
10 minutes driving by car you can visit the charming village of Deià, famous for its beach, Cala de Deià, and visit the wild beach of Llucalcari. To highlight is the obligatory stop at Na Foradada, a viewpoint where you can enjoy of one of the best sunsets on the island, having a cocktail and listening to live music.
You can also go to the Port of Valldemossa to enjoy some of its fish restaurants from the same area. It is a small mooring harbor for a couple of fishing boats, offering a unique landscape of stunning beauty, a pebble beach that housed a quiet community of sailors.
By car you can visit all the nearby villages such as Esporles, Banyalbufar and Estellencs, or follow the road to Pollença, visiting some of the most famous beaches of Mallorca like Sa Calobra. Valldemossa is easily accessible from Palma and the airport (about a 30 minute drive).
Outside the house there is a beautiful courtyard with swimming pool (3.50 x 6.00 m), a covered barbecue and a wood-fired oven to cook piglets and other meat. The whole courtyard is covered with grass and there is a nice palm tree that welcomes us as well as romantic bougainvillea. The result is a dream-like corner, fresh that invites to peace and relaxation.
The parking area can be around the adjacent streets to the house as the owner will tell visitors how to arrange a free parking ticket to park in the old town.
