Scenic Surroundings

Just offshore lies the small Island of Alcanada, home to the iconic lighthouse. The island can be reached by swimming or wading, with water depth averaging 1.5 metres. The area is also popular for jet skiing, blending quiet scenery with occasional activity.

Beach Composition

The shore features some patches of sand but is mostly made up of pebbles, rocks, and seaweed, with large pine trees lining the coastline and providing natural shade. While the rocky surface can be uneven, families and tourists regularly visit, especially on weekends. Camping may sometimes occur in the area, though it remains officially prohibited.

Boating & Anchoring

Alcanada offers a designated anchoring zone with generally good conditions, especially in the central section where the seabed consists of fine sand. Care should be taken near the sandbanks on the eastern side. The nearest port facilities are at Port d’Alcúdia, located 1.8 nautical miles away.

Historical Interest

Nearby stands Torre Major, a 17th-century coastal defence tower, once used to protect against pirate raids — a fascinating historical feature for visitors to explore.
