Alcudia Market

Alcudia Market

Market Days in Alcúdia’s Old Town

Every Tuesday and Sunday, the medieval streets of Alcúdia’s walled old town come alive with one of Mallorca’s most popular and atmospheric markets. Spilling through the narrow lanes and main squares, it draws both locals and holidaymakers from across the north of the island.

History & Setting

Alcúdia is a town steeped in history, with its Roman ruins and well-preserved medieval walls. The market has been part of this heritage for centuries, once serving as the main trading hub for the surrounding farmland. Today, the tradition continues, blending authentic produce stalls with goods that appeal to the many visitors who flock to Alcúdia year-round.

Market Experience

This is a large and diverse market, with hundreds of stalls selling seasonal fruit and vegetables, local meats and cheeses, cured olives, fresh bread, flowers, leather goods, clothes, jewellery, household items, and souvenirs. The streets are buzzing with activity, and the medieval backdrop makes browsing especially atmospheric. It’s a great place to pick up artisanal products, as well as more everyday items.

Visitor Information

The Alcúdia Market takes place every Tuesday and Sunday from 9:00 to 14:00 inside the walled old town. Parking is available outside the walls with easy walking access into the centre, though it gets busy — early arrival is recommended. Many visitors combine the market with sightseeing in the historic quarter or lunch at one of Alcúdia’s many cafés and restaurants.
