A Calm Cove with Ancient Sands

Cala Anguila is a sheltered sea inlet carved between low cliffs where a torrent flows into the sea, giving shape to a broad sandy beach with fine golden grains—a natural result of millennia-old crushed shells and marine life. The soft slope of the shoreline makes it ideal for wading and families, while the clear turquoise water is irresistibly inviting.

Natural Beauty Meets Development

While the left side of the bay has seen development with residences and hotels, the right side still preserves scrubland, pine trees, and even remnants of a historic marès sandstone quarry. A large coastal cave nestled in the cliffs also invites exploration. The beach’s natural charm and clean environment have earned it a Blue Flag distinction.

Easy Access and a Popular Anchorage

Cala Anguila is easily reached by car, with parking in the nearby residential village and access via a stairway to the beach. It is also well-suited for boats—anchoring is safe on sandy seabeds ranging from seven to four metres deep, especially when winds are not coming from the southeast. The Port de Portocristo is just 0.2 nautical miles away.
