A Secluded and Unspoiled Inlet
Tucked alongside the better-known coves of Cala Sant Vicenç, Cala Carbó is the least frequented of the four, offering a peaceful alternative away from the tourist crowds. The cliffs sheltering the inlet are modest in height and largely bare of vegetation, while the beach itself is a charming mix of pebbles, gravel, beached boats, and drifted posidonia – all set against crystal clear waters.
Rugged Terrain & Cautious Anchorage
The seabed here is a varied mix of sand, gravel, and seaweed, dropping steeply to over three metres just 200 metres offshore. Despite its scenic beauty, anchoring is not recommended during storms or when northern winds are present, due to the treacherous underwater terrain. Cala Barques, the neighbouring cove, is a safer spot for anchoring at a cautious distance.
Low Footfall and Simple Access
Cala Carbó’s lack of tourist amenities is exactly what makes it appealing to locals and solitude-seekers. Access is straightforward by car, although parking is limited to roadside space. The beach is also reachable via public transport, with the nearest bus stop just 300 metres away. This natural, undeveloped beach offers tranquility and authenticity in one of the island’s most scenic corners.
