A Painter’s Muse in Miniature

Cala Clara is a small, idyllic cove tucked between Cala Molins and Punta de la Torre, where a military fortress once stood guard. Named after the clarity and colour of its fine white sand, the beach once inspired painters like Santiago Rusiñol and Joaquín Sorolla. Today, the surrounding tourist developments and residential buildings offer a stark contrast to the raw natural beauty that once dominated this scene.

Anchor with Caution in Good Conditions

Although the seabed is sandy with a gentle slope, anchoring is not recommended in poor weather due to exposure to north and northwest winds. The depth is around three metres at 300 metres offshore, meaning boats should keep a respectful distance from the shoreline.

A Short Walk to Peace and Quiet

Cala Clara is easily accessed by car up to Cala Barques, where free parking is available. From there, a 100-metre walk brings you to the beach. Public transport is also an option, with a bus stop just a few metres away. Despite its central location within Cala Sant Vicenç, the beach’s compact size and quieter atmosphere make it an appealing escape for those seeking a slower pace.
