Scenic Setting & Development
Cala en Fonoll is a small, sheltered coastal cove framed by steep cliffs on either side. One side of the bay is bordered by a hotel, while the opposite side features residential houses, giving the beach a blend of natural and urban charm. The shoreline and seabed share the same composition: a mix of greyish pebbles and gravel, creating a rugged, authentic feel.
Boating & Anchoring
Anchoring is permitted here under favourable conditions. However, if strong westerly winds occur, boaters are advised to seek shelter behind the Port d’Andratx breakwater, located just 0.2 nautical miles away. At approximately 150 metres offshore, water depths reach 8 metres, with a stony seabed.
Access & Popularity
Reaching the beach by car is easy. Follow signs past Club de Vela Port d'Andratx to Camino Cala Fonoll, or alternatively via Calle Sa Pedrera. Free parking is available nearby. Public transport is also an option, with a bus stop located in Port d’Andratx, followed by a short walk to the beach. A ramp provides easy access down to the cove itself. Due to its limited size and quieter location, Cala Fonoll remains lightly visited, offering a peaceful spot for locals and visitors looking to escape the crowds.
