A Local Hideaway with a Rustic Harbour
Tucked beneath the mighty Puig de Galatzó, Cala Estellencs serves both as a beach retreat and a small fishing harbour for locals. This narrow, pebble-covered beach lies at the base of steep cliffs coloured with reddish mud, surrounded by pine trees and rustic residences. The Torrent de Son Fortuny flows directly into the sea here, sometimes offering the unique experience of a cold freshwater rinse.
Rugged Terrain & a Touch of Tranquillity
Despite its dramatic appearance, Cala Estellencs remains uncrowded, attracting mainly residents from the village of Estellencs. Its u-shaped inlet is peaceful in calm conditions, though the steep rocky descent, pebble beach, and reddish escarpments give it a wild, untamed edge.
A Cove for Careful Explorers
Anchoring here is risky due to the cove’s exposure to southwest to north winds. Hidden rocks—including a flagstone just beneath the surface and a central stone at the entrance—make it accessible only for small boats, and only in calm conditions. During winter, beaching boats is not possible. The nearest marina is Port d’Andratx, 13 nautical miles away.
