Quiet Cove with Panoramic Views

Cala Fornells is a small, picturesque cove nestled between the resort areas of Peguera and Santa Ponça, offering panoramic views across the bay to Illa es Malgrat and the nearby Caló de ses Llises. The beach is surrounded by a combination of touristic buildings, residential houses, and restaurants, yet still retains pockets of natural charm with pine trees reaching the shoreline.

The beach itself features a coarse-grained sandy area with clear, inviting waters. To the right, a rocky section adds variety to the shoreline, while to the left, an artificial solarium created by a nearby hotel provides additional sunbathing space.

Boating & Anchoring

Anchoring is generally good directly in front of Cala Fornells, with a sandy and rocky seabed and depths ranging from 4 to 6 metres. However, sailors often prefer to anchor nearby at Caló de ses Llises, which offers slightly better shelter. The cove was once a favourite anchoring spot of Juan de Borbón, Conde de Barcelona, who regularly moored his yacht Giralda here. Full marina services are available at Club Nàutic Santa Ponça, located 2.5 nautical miles away.

Access & Popularity

Access is very easy, with clear signposting, free parking available nearby, and public transport stopping close to the beach. Despite its proximity to the resort areas, Cala Fornells remains moderately busy, attracting a mix of local residents and visitors seeking a more intimate and scenic spot away from the larger, busier beaches.
