A Sheltered Inlet with a Broad Sandy Shore
Cala d’en Marçal is a wide, sheltered cove located just outside Portocolom, where the sea inlet broadens gently toward the shore. This is Felanitx’s most accessible beach, backed by a dry torrent, low cliffs, and shady pine trees, with scrubland adding to the natural charm. Despite its scenic setting, the cove is heavily developed and a clear example of mass tourism, with much of the beach occupied by guests from the surrounding hotels and resorts.
Good Conditions for Boating & Swimming
The calm, protected waters make this beach ideal for swimming and safe anchoring. The seabed is sandy in the central part and mixed with rock and seaweed along the edges, with depths of around 4 metres at 200 metres from shore. Boaters can also find facilities nearby at Port de Portocolom, just 1.3 nautical miles away.
Convenient Access & Parking
Reaching Cala d’en Marçal is easy via clear signposting from Portocolom or s’Horta. For those arriving by car, a free parking area is available just a few metres from the beach, making it one of the most straightforward beaches to visit in the area. Despite its accessibility, the beach maintains a medium level of occupancy, providing a balance between comfort and convenience for tourists.
