A Virgin Cove Framed by Marble-Hued Cliffs
Tucked between 20-metre-high cliffs, Caló des Màrmols is the last cove of Santanyí’s coastline, and one of the most untouched. Its name, meaning “marble cove,” reflects the white stone and sand that give the water its dazzling turquoise clarity. With no buildings in sight, this triangular beach offers a raw, natural beauty that feels a world away from busier Mallorcan shores.
Ideal for Remote Anchoring
The sandy and gravel seabed, combined with depth ranging between 3 to 4 metres, makes Caló des Màrmols a viable anchoring spot, particularly appealing to private boaters seeking seclusion. However, note that it's exposed to winds from the east, southeast, and south, and is better visited on calm days.
Access by Sea – or Adventurous Trails
Accessing the beach by land is a challenging adventure. It’s a 5 km hike from Cap de ses Salines along an unmarked coastal trail, or 2.5 km through the private estate of Rafel des Porcs, which requires permission and good navigation, as signage is minimal. The surrounding landscape is dominated by pines, scrubland, and Mediterranean bush, preserving its wild atmosphere.
