A Dual Landscape of Fresh and Saltwater
What makes Cala Murada unique is its double coastal personality – a golden sandy beach touched by the sea, and a freshwater pool formed by the Torrent des Fangar, creating a haven for birds and nature lovers. On the right side, low cliffs topped with residential homes add a scenic backdrop, while the main beach bustles with swimmers and sunbathers.
Anchoring & Coastal Features
Despite being open to the sea, anchoring is excellent here, with depths of 5 metres at 220m from shore and 2 metres at 100m, ideal for small to mid-size boats. A small breakwater on the left, with nearby sandbanks, provides additional character to the cove. The nearest port is Port de Portocolom, 3.5 nautical miles away.
Easy Access & Local History
Access is straightforward by car, with a free parking area nearby, and the beach welcomes both residents and tourists staying locally. History lovers can explore the nearby Cova de Cala Murada – a Bronze Age cave with niches carved into the rock, once used by smugglers to stash their treasures.
