A Carved Rocky Cove for Adventurous Swimmers

S'Almunia is not your typical beach—it’s a rocky, sea-sculpted inlet, offering a raw and rugged coastal experience. The few flat ledges carved by erosion serve as sunbathing spots, while the only access into the water is via old boat ramps. Swimmers must take care navigating slippery seaweed-covered rocks, but those who do are rewarded with crystal-clear waters and spectacular surroundings.

Diving Hotspot – But Not Ideal for Boats

While the underwater scenery makes this spot a diver’s favourite, the conditions are not ideal for anchoring. The sandy and rocky seabed varies in depth from 4 to 5 metres, and sea currents, along with winds from the southeast, east, and southwest, make this a poor shelter for boats. Seasoned boaters may venture here on calm days, but caution is strongly advised.

Secluded, Steep, and Worth the Trek

Accessing S’Almunia is tricky but memorable. After parking near the sa Comuna houses, visitors face a steep 200-metre walk down stone steps, followed by a left turn to the shore. This secluded access is precisely why the cove sees very low foot traffic, offering a tranquil escape for those willing to make the journey.
