A Peaceful Escape Beside a Busier Neighbour
Tucked into the rocky coastline between steep cliffs and pine forest, Cala Serena (also known as Caló de ses Dones) offers a striking contrast to its busier neighbour, Cala Ferrera. This quiet, sandy cove sits in a naturally protected inlet and is split off from Cala Ferrera by a small headland. While development encroaches near Cala Ferrera, Cala Serena remains largely unspoilt, with its right-hand side virtually untouched, making it a serene hideaway for those seeking stillness.
Clear Waters and Safe Anchorage
The calm, clear waters and sandy seabed mixed with seaweed offer ideal conditions for anchoring boats, especially in the entrance to the cove where depths range from four to five metres. The surrounding sea cliffs contain small caves, some of which are large enough to offer natural shelter. The nearest marina is Port Esportiu Marina Cala d'Or, just 1.3 nautical miles away.
Easy to Reach, Yet Far from Crowds
Despite its tranquil atmosphere, Cala Serena is easily accessible by car. A well-signposted route leads to a free parking area, 400 metres from the beach. From there, a short walk through the quiet residential village and down a flight of stone steps leads visitors to this gently curving sandy cove, perfect for a relaxing day far from mass tourism.
