A Remote Cove at the Edge of the Island
Cala en Tugores lies at the southernmost tip of Mallorca, nestled between Cap de ses Salines and Colònia de Sant Jordi. Its isolation—reachable only by boat or a lengthy coastal hike—means it's the least frequented beach in the area, perfect for those seeking total peace. Choose from two scenic approaches: a 3.6 km walk from the lighthouse or a 5.4 km trek past three beaches from Colònia de Sant Jordi.
Natural Shores & Windswept Pines
The cove is bordered by twisted pine trees and low scrub, shaped by southern winds. Its fine white sand is fringed by thick posidonia seagrass, an essential ecosystem that keeps the coastal water clean and clear. Nearby, s’Estany de ses Gambes, a quiet natural lagoon, attracts marine birds and adds to the area’s ecological charm.
Clear Water, But Challenging for Boats
While the water is transparent and inviting, navigating in is tricky. The approach is narrow, with just 1.5 metres of depth 200 metres from shore, and a rocky seabed with seaweed lining the cove. Small boats may anchor with caution, but this beach is not ideal for larger vessels or inexperienced skippers.
