A Rugged V-Shaped Cove Shaped by Nature
Also known as es Caló Fred, this compact rocky beach is formed where the Torrentó de Cap Alt meets the sea, carving a v-shaped inlet lined with rocks and pebbles. The absence of sand gives it a stark beauty, marking the start of a wild, uninhabited coastline just beside the Àrea Natural d’Especial Interès des Cap Enderrocat and the adjacent military grounds.
Anchoring for the Cautious Mariner
As with much of this coastline, anchoring is only advisable in calm weather. The cove is fully exposed to winds from the southwest to the north, and even shallow-draught boats must approach with care. When conditions allow, the sandy seabed just offshore offers some opportunity for anchorage. Club Nàutic s’Arenal is the nearest port, offering safer shelter and services.
A Cliff-Backed Coast of Natural Isolation
Calonet des Cap Alt is part of a dramatic stretch of coast where steep cliffs, hidden torrents, and scattered inlets dominate the landscape. Running from Punta de s'Arenal to sa Ràpita, this area includes Caló de ses Lleonardes, na Plana, es Mollet des Rei, and others—ideal for adventurers seeking solitude, rugged beauty, and a raw taste of southern Mallorca’s coastal wilderness.
