A Lush Valley by the Sea

Set in a fertile valley that channels the Torrent de Canyamel, this beach is framed by the Serra de Sant Jordi and Puig Negre, offering both lush wetlands and dramatic rocky capes. The nearby freshwater flow creates a small delta where ducks and marine birds gather, adding to its ecological value. It’s a mix of nature and tranquillity, with a developed tourist and residential area nearby.

Ancient Caves & Historic Inspiration

Just above the cliffs of Cap Vermell, you’ll find the Coves d’Artà, one of Mallorca’s most significant cave systems. These vast caverns—450 metres wide and 310 metres long—once captivated famous literary figures such as Jules Verne, Victor Hugo, and Alexandre Dumas. The caves are just a short walk from the beach and offer an awe-inspiring detour.

Good for Boaters, But Watch the Weather

Canyamel’s southeast-facing bay provides decent conditions for anchoring, with 4–5 metres of depth on a sandy bottom. However, it is not well sheltered during storms, so extra caution is advised. The safest mooring is just off the starboard side of the bay, directly beneath the Cap Vermell cliffs. The nearest full-service marina is at Club Nàutic Cala Ratjada, 2 nautical miles away.

Easy to Access, Popular with Visitors

Getting here is simple: just follow the well-marked road signs. Free parking is available nearby, and there’s a bus stop close to the beach. With its stunning golden sand and convenient amenities, it’s no surprise that Canyamel is often bustling, especially in peak season.
