Breathtaking Natural Setting

Coll Baix is a spectacular, unspoiled beach set at the end of a wide, straight sea inlet. The beach features greyish gravel and coarse-grained sand, with occasional patches of thistles and marine iris adding touches of greenery. It is surrounded by towering steep rocky cliffs and closed off by a high headland that rises directly from the beach, creating a dramatic and secluded atmosphere.

Nearby, the sa Talaia d'Alcúdia (or de la Victòria), a 16th-century defence tower standing at 445 metres high, offers panoramic views over both the Bay of Alcúdia and the Bay of Pollença.

Boating & Anchoring

While boats can anchor offshore, the shallow seabed near the shore requires anchoring at a reasonable distance. Further out, depths reach around 5 metres, with a mix of sandy and rocky seabed. Coll Baix is the first available shelter for boats between Cap des Pinar and the rugged Cap de Menorca. The nearest port facilities are located at Port d'Alcúdia, approximately 4.8 nautical miles away.

Challenging Access & Secluded Atmosphere

Access by car is easy only as far as Alcudia town. From there, visitors must complete a challenging 5-kilometre hike, taking around 45 minutes on foot along tracks, steep dusty trails, and narrow paths beside precipices. Despite the effort required, the journey rewards hikers with stunning changing scenery — from agricultural terraces and pine forests to sweeping coastal views over the Mediterranean.

Due to its remote location and demanding access, Coll Baix remains very quiet and uncrowded, offering a truly tranquil and natural beach experience for those willing to make the journey.
