A Wild Beach Just Beyond the Village

Despite its proximity to Colònia de Sant Jordi, Es Carbó remains a peaceful, unspoilt haven. Its long stretch of fine sand—dotted with natural sea debris like Posidonia meadows and driftwood—makes it one of the most tranquil beaches in the area. The surrounding dunes are home to marine thistles, irises, and pine scrub, while the island of na Molina offshore adds a scenic touch.

Accessed Best on Foot or by Sea

Visitors must walk 2.3 km from Platja des Port or 6 km from Cap de ses Salines to reach the beach—an effort that keeps the crowds away. For those arriving by boat, anchoring is possible on a sandy seabed with seaweed, but caution is advised due to shallow waters and small rocky outcrops just 250 metres from the shoreline.

A Nature-Lover’s Retreat

The land behind the beach is part of the finca sa Vall, which includes a botanical cactus garden open to the public on Thursdays. Trails lead inland to the 14th-century defence tower and the March family’s palace, blending Mallorca’s natural and historical riches into a serene coastal escape.
