Founded in 1956 as a private garden for the monks of the Santuari de Lluc, the botanical space was envisioned as a tranquil area for meditation. Over time, it grew into a public garden with a mission to preserve and showcase the rich biodiversity of Mallorca’s highland ecosystems. A major renovation in the 1990s helped shape the garden into what it is today — a small but beautifully curated space featuring over 200 species of plants, herbs, and trees native to the Balearics, as well as a growing arboretum dedicated to Mediterranean forest species.

A Tranquil, Educational Experience

Visitors enter through a quiet woodland path that leads to a series of themed sections, including aromatic herbs, endemic mountain flora, orchard trees, and a stream-fed pond with small bridges and shaded seating. Informational plaques along the trail explain the uses, history, and ecological role of each plant, making the garden both a relaxing and educational stop. The garden is open daily from 10:00 to 13:00 and 15:00 to 18:00, accessible via a short walk from the main square of the Lluc Monastery.
