Palma Aquarium
Palma Aquarium is one of Mallorca’s most popular family attractions, offering visitors the chance to explore the wonders of the world’s oceans without leaving the island. Home to more than 700 species from the Mediterranean and beyond, it combines marine conservation, education, and entertainment under one roof. Its impressive design allows for a seamless journey through different underwater habitats.
A Fascinating Underwater World
Opened in 2007, Palma Aquarium houses over 5 million litres of salt water, making it one of the largest aquariums in Europe. Visitors can wander through themed zones such as the Mediterranean Gardens, the Tropical Seas, and the awe-inspiring Big Blue — the deepest shark tank in Europe at 8.5 metres. The aquarium is also home to the largest living coral collection in the continent.
Interactive Experiences for All Ages
The aquarium offers much more than just tanks and displays. Families can enjoy interactive experiences like touching starfish in the touch pools, diving with rays, or even joining guided snorkelling sessions. Seasonal events, children’s workshops, and conservation talks ensure there’s something for every age group. Outdoor spaces, including the Mediterranean gardens and children’s play areas, make it a full-day destination.
Commitment to Conservation
Palma Aquarium actively participates in marine conservation projects, from rescuing injured sea turtles to raising awareness about the impact of plastic pollution. Educational programmes, developed in collaboration with schools, aim to inspire future generations to protect the oceans.
