Historic Setting & Calm Atmosphere
Platja Colònia de Sant Pere sits in the quiet residential town of Colònia de Sant Pere, the oldest settlement in the area dating back to 1880, originally founded as an agricultural colony. Today, while some tourism exists, the area retains a strong residential character, far removed from mass tourism, making it an attractive spot for locals and visitors seeking a more authentic experience.
Beach Composition & Promenade
The beach features fine-grained golden sand, curving in a gentle arch-shaped formation that extends for nearly 200 metres. A modern promenade lines the shore, shaded by tamarisk trees, with terraces and seating areas offering lovely views across the bay. A short walk along the promenade leads to nearby Caló des Parral, a smaller cove with coarse dark sand and crystal-clear waters, where the Torrent de sa Font des Parral flows into the sea.
Boating & Anchoring
Anchoring near the Club Nàutic Colònia de Sant Pere is not recommended, as the seabed is rocky with patches of seaweed. Entering the port should also be avoided if winds from the first and fourth quadrants or storms are present, as port access may be restricted. However, there are safe anchoring areas away from the port entrance for careful navigators.
Access & Popularity
Access is straightforward by car, following well-marked signs. Free parking is available close to the beach. The beach’s easy accessibility, promenade atmosphere, and facilities make Platja Colònia de Sant Pere moderately busy, popular with local residents and visiting tourists who appreciate its peaceful setting and beautiful bay views.
