Platja de Camp de Mar sits at the end of a wide U-shaped sea inlet, surrounded by hotels and houses along the coastline. The beach is very popular and frequently crowded with both locals and tourists.

The most striking feature is La Illeta, a small island rising from the centre of the bay, connected to the beach by a narrow wooden bridge. The island itself houses a restaurant, and the bridge doubles as a jetty for passenger boats heading towards Illa de sa Dragonera, adding both charm and activity to the area.

The beach features fine sand and clear waters, with plenty of space for sunbathing and swimming. Its popularity makes it a lively spot, offering various watersports and recreational activities. Anchoring conditions are good, with a sandy seabed mixed with seaweed, offering depths of 4 to 5 metres near the island. Navigators are advised to anchor near La Illeta while avoiding the main channel, which is actively used by passenger launches. The beach is exposed to winds from the south, southwest, and west. The nearest port facilities are at Club Nàutic Santa Ponça, about 3.8 nautical miles away.

Access is easy by car, with clear signs leading to free parking areas nearby. Public transport also serves the beach, with a bus stop located close to the shoreline.
