Natural Setting & Wetland Surroundings

Platja de sa Marina is located near the protected s’Albufereta de Pollença wetland, a 150-hectare nature reserve rich in migratory birdlife, bogs, and agricultural land. While the wetland remains under municipal protection, the dune and beach area surrounding Platja de sa Marina is classified as urban, with a small residential village and several tourist buildings nearby.

Beach Composition & Atmosphere

This stretch of coastline is characterised by greyish rocks and accumulations of posidonia (seagrass), which can sometimes cause an unpleasant smell. Despite its natural setting, the beach remains relatively quiet and uncrowded, visited by only a few residents, tourists, and occasional campers (though camping is officially prohibited).

The beach features a gentle slope and calm waters, making it an ideal area for small boats to anchor close to the shore. The surrounding pine woods add to its peaceful, natural feel.

Boating & Anchoring

Many small boats anchor in the calm waters just offshore. The nearest full port facilities are located at Port de Pollença, approximately 3 nautical miles away.

Access & Popularity

Getting to the beach is easy by following signs from either Pollença or Alcudia. From Alcudia, visitors drive through a dense pine forest before reaching free parking close to the beach. There’s also a bus stop located just a few metres from the beach, offering convenient public transport access. Thanks to its secluded nature and basic facilities, Platja de sa Marina remains a low-occupancy beach, ideal for visitors seeking tranquillity away from busier resort areas.
