Poblat de Navetes des Turassot (Es Turassot)
Step Inside Mallorca’s Bronze Age Heritage
Nestled just 1.8 km south of Costitx, the Poblat de Navetes des Turassot is one of the few surviving Naviform settlements on Mallorca, dating from approximately 1600–1000 BC. This archaeological site — including five partially preserved navetes (stone structures resembling inverted boat shapes) — provides a rare, tangible connection to prehistoric Mallorcan life.
Experience the Ancient Architecture
The three central navetes — up to 3 m tall — stand in a row surrounded by almond and olive groves, with entrances oriented south toward the sun. The easternmost structure has been fully excavated: it stretches over 17 m long, is internally divided into two chambers, and reflects ongoing archaeological restoration that began in 2015.
A Quiet, Authentic Historic Stop
Open to visitors at any time during daylight hours, the site offers a peaceful, uncurated experience. There are no fees or guided tours, but the authenticity, rural setting, and lack of crowds make it a standout. Visitors may even come across archaeologists actively working on-site, adding to the living heritage feel.
