Protected Landscape & Breathtaking Views
S’Aigua Dolça is located in the heart of the Àrea Natural d’Especial Interès Muntanyes d’Artà, beneath Sa Talaia Freda de Morei (563 metres). The cove offers spectacular panoramic views across the Bay of Alcúdia, framed by rugged cliffs, scrubland, and low vegetation. This stretch of coastline, sitting between Cap de Ferrut and the village of Betlem, features a series of small, irregular coves, including Na Clara, Cala Mata, Na Pastor, Caló d’en Serra, and Sa Pedra Alta.
Geological Features & Beach Composition
The coastline here is low-lying (about five metres), with ancient fossil dunes, small rocks, sandbanks, and scattered reefs—remnants of millions of years of geological history. The beach itself features fine natural sand, surrounded by bushes and scrubland, creating an untouched, remote atmosphere.
Boating & Anchoring
Anchoring directly in front of S’Aigua Dolça is not advisable due to the presence of rocks, seaweed, shallow depths, and uneven seabed conditions. Only small, shallow-draft boats typically navigate these waters. Safer anchoring is possible between Vells Marins Baixos and Punta des Barracar for experienced navigators. The nearest port facilities are at Port Colònia de Sant Pere.
Access & Popularity
Access is easy by car up to the village of Betlem, following well-marked signs. Free parking is available, after which visitors complete the journey on foot to reach this remote cove. Due to its limited accessibility and wild setting, S’Aigua Dolça remains very quiet and lightly visited, primarily attracting locals and nature lovers seeking solitude and unspoilt coastal views.
