A Natural Paradise Framed by Dunes and Wildlife
S'Amarador is one of the two beaches that form Cala Mondragó, a stunning twin-cove inlet within a 785-hectare natural park declared a protected area in 1992. Less developed than its sister beach, sa Font de n'Alis, S'Amarador feels more serene and immersed in nature, backed by dunes stabilised by native plants like pines and thistles.
Wildlife, Wetlands & Soft Sand
This fine-sand beach gently slopes into clear waters, making it ideal for swimming and family visits. A small wetland and pond at the rear is fed by a seasonal torrent, supporting a reintroduction programme for the native land turtle. Despite its natural beauty, the lack of heavy tourist infrastructure means it’s generally less crowded than nearby options.
Accessible Yet Unspoilt
While S’Amarador isn’t served by Cala d'Or’s tourist train, access is easy by car, with free parking just five minutes away. Visitors can also walk from sa Font de n’Alis along a 400-metre coastal path. For those arriving by sea, anchoring is possible on a sandy seabed up to six metres deep, though the beach is exposed to easterly winds.
