A Remote Stretch of Pristine Nature

Also known as Ses Assussenes, this secluded beach sits within the Àrea Natural d'Especial Interès de Son Real and offers a glimpse into Mallorca’s untouched wilderness. Named after the white marine irises that grow here, the beach is backed by rolling dunes, pine forests, and scrubland, creating a landscape that feels miles away from civilisation.

Nearby lie archaeological treasures like the Necrópolis de Son Real and Illa des Porros, adding historic depth to its natural charm.

Clear Waters & Ideal for Anchoring

Despite its wild feel, S’Arenal d’en Casat offers excellent anchoring conditions, with a sandy seabed and depths of around 2.3 metres at just over 150 metres from shore. The beach is gently sloped, making it safe and comfortable for swimming, though you may encounter patches of posidonia near the shoreline.

Reach It On Foot – If You’re Respectful

Access is part of the adventure. The most respectful approach is a 1.5km walk from Son Bauló, passing Na Patana, or along a trail from the Son Real estate, off the Alcúdia-Artà road. While some attempt to reach it by 4x4 via Platja des Dolç, this risks damaging the fragile ecosystem. Visitors who arrive on foot are rewarded with peace, natural beauty, and almost total seclusion.
