Cultural & Historical Setting

The beach of S’Illot is located on the rugged La Victòria headland (1,010 hectares), a region named after the Virgin of the Ermita de la Victòria, a 13th-century hermitage nestled below the Talaia d’Alcúdia (445 metres high). This area was named in commemoration of the victory over the Agermanats revolt in 1522. The beach itself takes its name from the small island just offshore ("illot" in Catalan means "islet"), which sits opposite the beach and adds to its unique coastal character.

Beach Composition & Landscape

S’Illot features a double crescent-shaped cove, made up of greyish gravel and pebbles, backed by a pine forest that adds natural charm and shade. Occasionally, after heavy rainfall, sediment carried by a seasonal torrent can form a temporary land bridge connecting the beach to the nearby islet.

Boating & Anchoring

The coastline here is generally unsuitable for anchoring, as the waters are shallow near the shore. However, boaters will find a depth of around 4 metres at approximately 200 metres offshore, on a seabed of gravel and rock. The closest marina is Marina de Donaire (Cocodrilo), located just 0.5 nautical miles away.

Access & Popularity

Access is simple by road, with clear signage leading to the Albergue de la Victòria, which is situated directly next to the beach. Visitors can leave their car in the free parking area nearby, making S’Illot a convenient stop for families and tourists exploring this scenic stretch of coast. Its proximity to the road and natural beauty have made it increasingly popular among locals and visitors, while still maintaining a peaceful, uncrowded feel.
