A Protected Wilderness of Sand and History

Son Real sits within one of Mallorca’s most important protected natural reserves, declared an Àrea Natural d'Especial Interès in 1991. Spanning a wide two-by-five-kilometre stretch of coastal land, the area is rich in flora and fauna, with wetlands, dune systems, and archeological sites all contributing to its unique landscape. The beach itself is virgin, expansive, and serene, made up of fine, clear sand and banks of washed-up posidonia that add to its rugged charm.

Safe Bathing and Space to Breathe

The beach’s flat shoreline and gentle slope make it ideal for swimming, while its secluded nature means you’re unlikely to compete for space. The size of the beach may vary depending on the season and the flow of the Torrent de Son Real, which meets the sea here.

Reach It By Foot or From the Marina

Boaters will find anchoring conditions suitable, with a mixed rocky and sandy seabed and depths of around four metres at 150 metres from shore. The Club Nàutic Serra Nova is nearby for those seeking facilities. Access by car is straightforward via Son Serra de Marina, followed by a direct walk along a quiet rural track. Alternatively, a short 200-metre walk from the marina gets you there on foot.

Son Real is ideal for nature lovers, bird watchers, and anyone seeking a wild, unspoiled coastal escape steeped in environmental and historical significance.
