A Little Bit Of Luxury

Not for much longer will the well-heeled coming to Majorca have to undergo on-board co-habitation with the riff-raff. No, sirree. No more vodka and lager mixes being thrown up into the lap or a Kylie wailing at her wailing offspring. Majorca for the moneyed classes. And the moneyed classes can travel moneyed class.

Premjet is an airline that is due to be launching a service this coming spring, 14 services a week with specially remodelled 737 interiors to accommodate a mere 80 passengers.

Luxury airline travel may not be anything new, but for short-haul to Majorca it is. Perhaps there are those who would rather pay top euro in order to avoid having to come into contact with the Magaluf classes, but for a couple of hours is this luxury liner in the sky a goer? Oh, I reckon so. The island is dividing ever more, with one part of that division occupied by the premier league-ists of minted Brit.

So Premjet will doubtless be a success, but will the passengers find themselves disembarking at the outer reaches of Palma airport along with the Easyjet and other hoi-polloi?
