BlogMV Goes Live!
This is the Majorcan Villas blog, a blog about - oddly enough - Majorca. Most of the time. Except when it's not, or is about Spain or something that has an apparently tenuous connection with Majorca but makes for a good story. This is a blog about the serious, the daft, the humorous, the dangerous. It's a blog like a spin-off TV show. The all-original blog, one of the most prominent on the island, is the alcudiapollensa.blogspot. com, which, despite its name, is not just about the north of the island. Politics, media, hotels, restaurants, crime, bars, the state of the tourism market; you name it, it has probably featured.
And so the Majorcan Villas blog will be similarly eclectic and, for want of a better word, quirky. The blog is about, if you like, life in Majorca seen through one set of eyes. It is not brochure talk. It may deal, like the original blog, with things like why do they shoot at pine trees in February, why do they always undertake building work in the late winter and early spring, why is the Palma metro always closed?
Incidentally, the answers to the first and third questions are respectively - caterpillars and they cocked up and it always floods. As to the second, well they can't do building work during the main tourist season, but rather than start it all on 1 November, they don't bother getting themselves into gear until after all the winter fiestas and when people are slowly returning to the island, only to be confronted by whacking great holes in roads and cranes blocking those roads that remain passable. Not sure anyone knows the real answer to the question.
So this is the Majorcan Villas blog. BlogMV, that has a certain radio sound to it, so we'll go with that as a shorthand until someone comes up with something better. BlogMV, your voice of Majorcan Villas and Majorca - sometimes.
